Jasmine Decesco Jasmine is a dedicated coach and program director who is driven by her passion for the sport of cheerleading. She was the former captain of the Nipissing University Cheerleading team where she won 1st place at the University/Open National competition in an open level 6 division. Jasmine is a certified level 2 gymnastics coach as well as First Aid, High Five, and Quest 2 certified. She also earned her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees at Nipissing University. Currently a certified teacher in the TDSB, she brings her love of cheerleading with her to each and every practice. Jasmine coaches the junior and senior teams and believes that cheerleading is much more than a sport it is also helps build character. "Cheerleading teaches athletes how to work towards a common goal and to truly understand the importance of teamwork."
Sahil is an energetic tumbling coach who coaches the junior and senior teams. He focuses on proper tumbling progressions. Sahil is a certified level 2 gymnastics coach who attended the Humber College Coaching Program. He is First Aid, CPR, and High Five Certified. Sahil is a former Provincial Power Tumbler who entered the world of cheerleading after his tumbling career. He competed at Cheer Worlds in Orlando and his team placed 4th. Sahil was also named the 3rd Best Male Tumbler in 2010 by Twist Magazine (Canada's Cheerleading Magazine).
Marie Yap Marie is a dance instructor at Danceworks who has recently become involved with the world of cheer with Thunder All-Stars Cheerleading. Her dance background lies in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, and hip-hop. Marie has been exploring different world dances as a student in the York University dance studies program. She has worked with several wll-known dancers and artists such as Everitt Smith (from "So You Think You Can Dance Canada"), Jorand "J-Mann" Francis (from "Camp Rock 2"), Shawn Byfield (founder of "Funk Factory" and BDX dance studios), and many more. Marie is currently part of "StyleWize", the competitive hip hop team at York University and she teaches fitness classes, and dance classes to all ages and levels. She is the choreographer for all of the junior and senior dance sections in their routines.
Jeneita Brown Jeneita loves coaching the younger athletes, as she is a friendly and dedicated coach. She is a former cheerleader for York Memorial High School and the University of Buffalo. Jeneita is a certified gymnastics coach who is also certified in High Five, Risk Management, and Business Administration. With over 15 years of experience in multiple sports and dance, Jeneita is a coach who prides herself on maintaining a safe environment for athletes by incorporating developmentally appropriate skills training during practices. She believes that cheerleading should provide a learning experience that is appropriate for each athlete's skill and maturity levels. Jeneita loves when the athletes are challenged and leave practice feeling good about themselves.
