Lisa Cowan

Co-Head Coach Women’s Artistic Gymnastics

 

Ms. Cowan is a 1991 graduate of Advanced Coaching Techniques in Gymnastics from Seneca College. Lisa has coached many provincial and national champions over the past 23 years. Lisa is a National team coach and holds Level 4 NCCP certification. In 2006 Lisa was recognized as the National Coach of the Year. In 2009 Lisa and coaching partner Lawson Hamer were recognized as High Performance Junior Coaches of the year by Gymnastics Canada. At the 2010 National Championships Lisa’s choreography won the Novice and Open floor choreography awards. She is currently a member of the Gymnastics Canada Woman’s Program Committee, playing an instrumental role in the Canadian Pre-Novice program. Lisa’s past coaching experience includes Co-Head Coach 1991-1999 Trillium Gymnastics Club and Sport Seneca Gymnastics elite school program 1999-2008.  Currently Lisa shares the Head Coaching responsibilities at Futures Gymnastics in the Woman’s Program with coaching partner Lawson Hamer.

Lawson Hamer

Co-Head Coach Women’s Artistic Gymnastics

 

Lawson has been coaching gymnastics since 1990.  In 1997 Lawson graduated from the Advanced Coaching Techniques in Gymnastics at Seneca College.  Upon graduation Lawson has hired at Sport Seneca as the assistant head-coach of the WAG program where he continued to coach for 13 years.  Lawson is Level 4 certified in the NCCP program and has obtained the FIG Brevet coaching certification.  Lawson has coached numerous provincial and national champions as well as attending numerous International competitions with various National Team members.  In 2009 Lawson and coaching partner Lisa Cowan were recognized as High Performance Junior Coaches of the year by Gymnastics Canada.  Currently Lawson is Co-Head Coach of the WAG program at Futures Gymnastics Centre, sharing the head coaching responsibilities with coaching partner Lisa Cowan.

Jennifer D’Alton

Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Coach

Jennifer brings to the women’s program over 20 years of experience coaching pre-competitive, invitational & provincial level gymnasts.  Her coaching career has spanned 3 provinces and numerous gymnastics clubs, thus allowing her to gain new ideas and coaching practices.   She has coached provincial event champions in both Ontario and Saskatchewan.  The highlight of Jennifer’s  career to date was attending the Canada Winter Games in 2007, in Whitehorse with team Saskatchewan, as an apprentice coach.  “Coaching provides me with the opportunity to have an impact on the lives of young people, supporting and encouraging them as they grow and develop both gymnastics and life skills.”

Toni Norman

Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Coach

 

Toni Norman has been an integral part of Team Futures for over ten years . As a former Track and Field athlete Toni brings a great deal of running expertise that compliments vault and floor. Toni is fully certified level 2 NCCP in Women's Artistic Gymnastic and is working towards completing her level 3. Her passion is working with the Pre-competitive and Canadian Pre Novice (CPN) with a focus on developing strong basics to provide a strong future in the sport of gymnastics. Although her focus is Pre-competitive and CPN, in her 10 years at Futures she has also worked with Provincial level athletes and has produced many Provincial Champions.

Shaun Liddell

Shaun Liddell is a level 2 certified NCCP coach in women's and men's artistic gymnastics as well as trampoline. With over 25 years of experience working with athletes in various levels, he always prefers to get back to the basics with the younger athletes teaching them the fundamentals of the sport. As an athlete, he competed in power tumbling and won the Canadian Junior National Championships in 1994.  He is excited to be back at Futures working with the Women’s Artistic Team and is looking forward to contributing to the program as well as learning from the team.  

Marsha Rampersaud

Marsha Rampersaud has been part of the gymnastics community for close to twenty years, first as an athlete, then as a coach and administrator.  Competitive Coaching is a dream realized in her lifelong commitment to this sport.  Marsha holds a WAG Level 2 certification and Trampoline Level 1 certification.  She is a new member to Team Futures, coaching in our Invitational and Pre-Competitive programs.  Marsha is delighted to be part of Team Futures!

Kathleen Brown

Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Coach

 

Kathleen began her coaching career at Futures Gymnastics Centre last season coaching in the recreation program gaining valuable experience working with young gymnasts.  Kathleen brings a wealth of knowledge and gymnastics experience to her coaching as a former national level gymnast.  Her passion for the sport of gymnastics as an athlete will certainly assist her in coaching as she passes on her knowledge to her young gymnasts.  Kathleen is very excited to be part of the coaching team at Futures Gymnastics Centre.
